Self-Sign a Document

Overview

Self-signing with VIRIFI allows you to securely sign your own PDFs using certified digital signature technology.
You can apply an Advanced Electronic Signature (AES) or a Professional Electronic Signature (PES)


Steps to Self-Sign a Document

1. Log in and open your account overview
From your VIRIFI dashboard, go to the Overview tab. You’ll see quick-action options for Certify a PDF Document, Sign a PDF Document, and Verify a Document.

2. Click “Sign a PDF Document”
Select Sign a PDF Document to start. Drag and drop your PDF file into the upload box or click to choose one from your device.

3. Define who will sign
In the Who will sign? section, enter your own email address.
For a self-signed document, you don’t need to add additional signers or groups.

4. Select Signature Technology
Choose your preferred signature type: (for these steps, we are selecting AES and Mobile Number was verified earlier)

  • AES (Advanced Electronic Signature): Requires mobile-number verification.

  • PES (Professional Electronic Signature): Requires completed KYC verification.

🧭 Note:
For most individual signings, AES is quick and secure.

5. Enable Digital Twin (optional)
Toggle Enable Digital Twin to keep your signed document verifiable even when printed or shared as a physical copy.
Digital Twin is enabled for these steps.

6. Add password protection (optional)
You can set a password to prevent unauthorized viewing or downloading of the signed document when printed or shared as a physical copy.

7. Click “Sign”
When ready, click Sign to complete the process. VIRIFI will instantly secure your document and trigger the download of your signed file.

8. Confirmation screen
Success! “Signatures are added to your document and trigger the download of the signed document for you.”
You can choose Download Again or Back to Overview.


💡 Tip

You can monitor all your signed documents under History — including file name, signer, date, and verification status.

⚠️ Important

For organizations, completing KYB verification is mandatory to obtain Verified Organization status.
